NOTICE OF JANUARY 2026 MEETINGS

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the 2026 Organizational Meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Pleasantville Fire District will be held on January 6, 2026 at 7:30PM; and PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Board will hold its Regular Monthly Meeting on January 20, 2026 at 7:30PM. Both of the foregoing meetings will be held in the Meeting Room, Pleasantville Fire Headquarters, 75 Washington Avenue, Pleasantville, New York.

Fire Prevention Open House 2022

The Department held it’s Bi-Annual Fire Prevention Open House this past Saturday. Community members had the opportunity to see live extrication drills, participate in a fire extinguisher station and practice crawling out of a simulated smoke trailer. Residents were able to meet with volunteers from our department and from the Pleasantville Ambulance Corps. Fire Prevention Week runs from October 9th till October 15th 2022.

Pleasantville Day / Staying Alive Charity Event

PFD Volunteers stood by providing a road closure while also flying a flag for Pleasantville Day. Community members stopped by to check out Tower Ladder 5 and discussed how they could also help their community.

In addition to being at Pleasantville Day, PFD volunteers are also at the Stayin’ Alive Charity Community Awareness Event in Armonk. Stayin’ Alive has been a great community partner for PFD, providing us with annual grants to purchase life saving equipment. This years grant was used to purchase two new rescue saws.

New Delivery

This morning, Pleasantville FD took delivery of a brand new 2021 Chevy Tahoe. This car will be assigned to the Chief of the Department (Car 2371), which replaces a 2012 Chevy Suburban. We thank First Responder Warning Systems LLC for outfitting it with lights and radios.

Bedford Road School Annual Fire Prevention Visit

On Monday. October 18th, PFD volunteers traveled to the Bedford Road School for our annual fire prevention visit. Students took tours of Engine 91 and Rescue 47, learned about fire safety, and got to see what firefighters look and sound like while dressed in all of their gear.

Pleasantville Doing Their Part For The Community

The Village of Mamaroneck was hit really hard by Ida and Mamaroneck firefighters have been volunteering nonstop since the storm. Mutual aid departments were requested to standby to give Mamaroneck firefighters a chance to head home and get a good night’s sleep.
Car 2371 and Tower Ladder 5 are stationed at the Columbia Firehouse, home of Engine 41 from 7 pm Sunday to 7 am Monday.
The Mount Kisco Fire Department, Mahopac Falls Fire Department, and Patterson Fire Department are also standing by in Mamaroneck.

Training for Water Rescue and Drafting

Tonight, Our members drilled on water rescue and drafting. With both of these topics not frequent occurrences within the village of Pleasantville, it’s always good to practice.
Drafting is utilized when a district’s hydrant system is out of service or nonexistent.
Pleasantville has multiple bodies of water within the fire protection districts. When around a body of water, remember to exercise caution whether fishing, swimming, or just visiting.
